I've been eating quite a lot of strawberries lately...

I am glad to report that as opposed to last year, I managed to control my urge to binge on those darn mooncakes this year, which are super duper mega calorie-bombs. But hey it doesn't hurt to look and drool at all those pretty mooncakes and their equally pretty packaging, so while browsing at a Mooncake fair at a local mall, I came across this Aya Usagi Manju from Nipponya, which specialize in Japanese sweets and gifts. I guess they are not technically mooncakes, but these little bunnies are soooo adorable that I just had to get them! o(>w<)o
They are definitely better than mooncakes calories-wise, since they are so small in size!
And they are soooo cute that Junsu just had to have one all on his own! ∑(° Д °) I wonder if he can finish it all? LOL
Happy Mid Autumn / Mooncake Festival everyone!

First thing first,
✿ Happy Easter! ✿
I absolutely love McDonald's McMuffins, but English muffins are kind of hard to find and inconvenient to get around where I lived. So I went on a hunt for some recipes for English muffins and these two by
Paul Hollywood and
Joe Pastry seem pretty promising. I finally got the courage to give the recipe by Paul Hollywood a try this weekend! So here's Junsu with the results!
Junsu and the stack of English muffins!
nom nom nom nom
Ham and Cheese English Muffin and German Sausage
Should have add an egg to copy McDonald's McMuffin LOL!
Ohhhh~ nom nom nom
The recipe by Paul Hollywood is definitely a keeper for me. Though I will also try the other recipe the next time just for variety. Okay, enough about food for the weekend. LOL!
Have a wonderful Easter Sunday! (>w<)/♥

I tend to go for chocolate when it comes to desserts. Apple crumble is probably one of those rare fruit-based, non-chocolate dessert that I actually don't mind. I came across this Apple Crumble
recipe and it seems quite easy enough to follow, so I decided to give it a try! Here's Yayoi showing you the result! o(>w<)o
And meanwhile, Happy Easter Eve!

Just a snapshot of J with a
Tartelette au Fruits from
Johan Paris bakery bearing his initial! The salesgirl told me it was Chocolate Tart when I asked but this turned out to be a Fruit Tart instead. -_-
Nevertheless, the boys and I need more artisanal bakeries in Singapore, hopefully near my house (think cakes and cute pastries LOL)!
"Not my birthday yet... but I'll take it."

Junsu: I wonder if it might be my twin...?
Hmmm...

Warning: Super Long Post + Photo Spam! LOL
It's one of those times of the year where a festival, other than Lunar New Year and Christmas, that is hell bent on expanding your waistline comes around... Say hello to the Mid Autumn festival, which is also known as the Mooncake Festival (because of the popular tradition of eating mooncakes) or the Lantern Festival.
This year, there was a small mooncake fair at the local mall and I thought I could just check it out and perhaps buy just one or two mooncakes to indulge myself. Oh, bad, bad mistake! There were so many mooncake variety with various crusts and fillings and they came in all kinds of pretty packaging that I just didn't know what to choose!
I ended up with a hoard of mooncakes to try. ( ̄▵ ̄)

Just a quick food spam featuring Junsu again LOL!
One of my favorite store lately is Dora Keiki, which sells the Japanese confection, dorayaki. I had the chance to try their dorayaki previously, which came in different flavors like red bean, chocolate, cheese, chocolate cheese, blueberry, and so on, and lately, they expanded the selection to custard, mango and a few others, so I just had to try some of those too, especially custard. Their dorayaki are served chilled and the fillings are pretty generous. My favorites so far are chocolate, chocolate cheese and custard in that order. I was totally hooked on the chocolate dorayaki on first bite LOL.
It also helps that a pack of 6 dorayaki come in a pretty little box and suffice to say, I have made it my 2013 resolution to complete the box collection, which comes in brown, blue, green and pink rofl.
The loots!
Resistance...
...is futile!
Junsu: opps, I promise I wasn't trying to steal any...
Among others, they also sell mochi (though their version is kind of bread-like as opposed to the glutinous rice type), and lately they have also introduced daifuku as well. I have not tried the daifuku yet so maybe next time I will spam more on the mochi and daifuku! >w<

The other half of the "Double Trouble" team! I haven't been taking much photos of Sihoo since his arrival as I was waiting for him and his "other half" to be completed, and then I was like, what the hell am I waiting for?! LOL! So I resolve to spend more time with the Double Trouble guys!
The opportunity came up when I got a cake pop from "
The Icing Room" and Sihoo decided to lay claim to it before Junsu gets his chance to. They actually call it a "lollycake". I've been wanting to try their version for a while and eventually caved in to temptation. Boy, now I'm hooked! The outside is a tad sweet for me with all those icing toppings but it is a little dense and fudgy on the inside and it reminded me of those little chocolate rum balls from my local neighborhood bakery that I used to like. I must say it won't be the last time I'm getting those cake pops (so much for my diet!)! ( ̄◇ ̄;)
Meanwhile, some spam of the little guy! Little diva is cute and he sure as heck knows it! (>w<)

This is kind of food related and probably not doll related, but I try to spam photos of my boys with it, so please bear with me lol!
I've been having a bad case of sweet tooth lately and was drooling over photos of desserts online (and on instagram!) when I came across some really awesome easy, no-bake recipes. One of the recipes were for
Oreo Truffles and they look really easy enough to make so I thought I'd give it a try with a reduced serving size. This was my first attempt so the result doesn't look as nice as the original. But I thought the truffles tasted a little like fudgy brownies, which I liked! Of course, as usual, little Junsu can't resist trying to pinch one for himself!
"Opps!"
The truffles with various toppings!
I followed the original recipe except to:
(1) reduce the serving size
(2) used low-fat cream cheese, and
(3) played around with the toppings lol.
I can't wait to try the other "easy" recipes! >w<

Been craving for strawberry jam and Meiji milk lately. I have no idea why. No, I'm not pregnant. Must be some little imp jinxing me on the sly. Hmph.
"Mine!"
"And mine!"
Anyway, she has been pretty much neglected, I still owe her an outfit that I wanted to make myself and she still needs to have a proper name after her original character "Rain" has been re-shelled and "upgraded" to a 26cm tiny instead (though still a floating head LOL). I'm calling her Milk or Wooyu for now, though I am also considering a few other names like Milkshake and Strawberry (I thought the Chinese word for strawberry "草莓" sounds pretty cute!). I guess I'll decide again once her final look (aka. outfit) has been settled on.
On a random
note rant, I lost one of the socks that came with her Fairyland outfit. Sometimes I really wonder if it's a good idea to have a doll that small... I keep losing her stuff! (≧ Д≦) Just the other day I nearly got a heart attack when one of her hands (attached to the rest of the arms with magnets instead of elastic strings) flew off while I was posing her. But luckily I managed to find it. Now I just wish I can find that darn missing sock LOL! ( ̄◇ ̄;)
Pretty protective of her stash!

So my friends recommended me to try the pudding from Tampopo Deli, a Japanese patisserie popular for their cakes & pastries, and I bought the Milk Tea pudding intending to have it for dinner... but Junsu, as always, just cannot get his hands off it...
Sorry Junsu, but I have no intention of sharing my dinner LOL!
*evil owner*
Awww... still no!
(But you can eat me LOL!!♥)

I came across Nippon-ya, a Japanese food boutique with a branch in Singapore, a few weeks ago and saw their Usagi no Cream Daifuku sets and just had to try it. Sadly, the flavor I wanted, Green tea, was sold out. I went again today and luckily for me, the Green Tea flavor was restocked. So I took the chance to buy one with the Great Singapore Sale promotion going on LOL!
Detective turn food critic maybe? LOL!
I'll update again when I've actually tried it. Can't bear to tear off the wrapper!

There is this awesome cake store that opened at my local shopping mall (awesome because the shop was very sweetly decorated and served by girls in sweet, pink maid uniforms >w<). I always wanted to try their cakes but resisted so far, but I finally crave in yesterday and bought some from
The Icing Room. I usually don't post food review but then I thought how could I not take photos of such lovely cakes with my boys?! So here we go!
(This is not really a review, just an excuse to take more photos of the boys LOL)
L showing photo of the loot, but no posing with cake for L...
because he'd eat them before I have a chance to take photo.
He doesn't look very happy here LOL.
